The Delta Chamber of Commerce, based in Delta, British Columbia, is a non-profit organization established in 1910 with the purpose of fostering economic growth within the community. Originally named the Delta Board of Trade, it was renamed in 1961 and is the sole Chamber of Commerce in the city of Delta, B.C. The Chamber supports local businesses by providing professional development opportunities, organizing networking events, advocating, and lobbying on their behalf. Its mission is to promote economic growth, strengthen commerce and industry in the area, emphasize the importance of community involvement, and support local businesses to improve the overall quality of life in the community.
Women Inclusion, Retention, and Member Acquisition Campaign
The Delta Chamber of Commerce had been facing a persistent challenge – a declining number of female members and a struggle to attract women attendees to their events year after year. To address this issue, they brought on Via Marketing. Our team identified the annual Golf tournament as the perfect opportunity to engage women and devised the ‘Golf Takes Balls’ campaign, which became an overwhelming success.
The campaign went viral, capturing widespread attention from local and provincial media channels, generating significant buzz and excitement. The results were remarkable – not only did the Chamber experience the largest turnout of female attendees in its history, but they also witnessed a substantial surge in new women memberships.
Furthermore, the event itself grew beyond initial expectations. To accommodate the overwhelming interest, an additional Golf Course was added, doubling the size of the originally planned event. Remarkably, despite the expansion, the tournament still managed to sell out completely.
